HIGH POINT, N.C. – Gardner-Webb track and field wrapped up the final day of competition at the Vertklasse Meeting, hosted by High Point University.
In the men's 400-meter run,
Chase Thornhill placed second with a time of 47.14 seconds at the finish line.
In the men's 400-meter hurdles,
Jesse Pittman ran a new personal best time of 54.82 seconds, which is a top-five all-time program record.
Patrick Sastre placed fifth in the men's 800-meter run, clocking in a new personal best time of 1:52.45 at the finish. Sastre's time resets his top-three all-time program record.
As for the women's hammer,
Autumn Drayton took first for the Runnin' Bulldogs by hitting a mark of 49.81 meters. Drayton's mark in the event is a new personal best and top-eight all-time program record.
Jaden Finch (45.80 meters) placed sixth in the event.
The women's 4x400-meter relay squad placed seventh with a time of 4:05.89 at the finish.
The men's 4x400-meter relay squad took third iwth a time of 3:17.50, which is a new top-four program record.
In the women's discus,
Autumn Drayton placed sixth by hitting a mark of 47.09 meters, which is a new all-time program record.
The Runnin' Bulldogs will be back in action on Thursday, April 7, as they face Winthrop for a dual meet in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
