GREENSBORO, N.C. – Gardner-Webb track and field wrapped up the final day of action at the 2022 Aggie Classic on Saturday afternoon. The program recorded several program records and personal bests throughout the final day.
In the women's hammer throw,
Jaden Finch placed eight by hitting a mark of 46.45 meters and
Autumn Drayton took 10
th by hitting a mark of 45.82 meters.
As for the women's hammer throw,
Khalilah Conway placed fifth by hitting a height of 1.55 meters.
Josh Fischer took third in the men's hammer throw by hitting a mark of 50.13 meters, while teammate Nate Wonsley finished in ninth with a mark of 44.65 meters.
Finch placed second in the women's shot put by hitting a mark of 14.00 meters,
Autumn Drayton followed in third with a mark of 13.88 meters.
In the women's 100-meter hurdles,
Khalilah Conway placed eighth by hitting a mark of 14.89 meters.
As for the men's 110-meter hurdles, Cameron Donoghue placed sixth with a time of 16.11 seconds at the finish.
Chase Thornhill set a new school record in the men's 400-meter dash, taking second place with a time of 46.54 seconds at the finish line. Thornhill's time currently ranks him 31
st in the NCAA and top ten in the Big South. Sean Amour finished in fourth with a time of 48.88 seconds, which is a new top-10 all-time program record for him.
James Hinton (49.74) ran a new personal record in the event as well.
Camile Sykes (2:23.77),
Teryn Bour (2:26:13), and
Brooklyn Tretter (2:26.52) each ran personal bests in the women's 800-meters.
In the men's 800-meter run,
Patrick Sastre placed seventh with a time of 1:53.67 at the finish.
Joe Waller (1:56.84) and
Ryan Morita (1:54.43) ran personal bests in the men's 800 meters. Morita's time is a new top-ten all-time program record.
The men finished second in the 4X400 Relay with a time of 3:14.01, which is a new school record. The previous record of 3:14.38 in the event has stood for over 20 years.
Track and field will be back in action at the UNC Charlotte Invite, with the action kicking off on Friday, April 23.
