Gardner-Webb Women's Golf Wraps Up Play At Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate

MORGANTON, N.C. – Gardner-Webb women's golf finished seventh at the 2022 Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate, wrapping up play on Tuesday afternoon.

The tournament was played on the 6,169-yard (Par 72) course at the Mimosa Hills Golf and Country Club.

The Runnin' Bulldogs shot their best round of the event on Tuesday, carding a 301. Gillian O'Brien had the low round, firing a 72. Gardner-Webb finished seven strokes behind Elon for sixth place and beat Winthrop by 28 strokes.

Neza Siftar led the way over the 54-hole tournament, finishing 11th individually. She shot 73 in Monday's opening round and finished with a 74 after the second 18 holes. Siftar shot 76 on Tuesday.

O'Brien (79-77-72-228) improved every round to finish in a tie for 19th. Dominika Burdova (81-77-76-234) finished 28th, followed by Kayla Dowell (72-87-77-236) and Linnea Hofgren (79-86-81-246).

Georgia Southern won the team title, beating USC Upstate by five shots.

Up next for Gardner-Webb is the 2022 Big South Conference Championship from April 13-16 in Ninety Six, S.C. The tournament will be held once again at The Patriot Golf Course at Grand Harbor.
