Gardner-Webb's Siftar Named Big South Women's Golf Freshman of the Week

CHARLOTTE – Gardner-Webb's Neza Siftar was selected Thursday as the Big South Conference Women's Golf Freshman of the Week.
The native of Ljubljana, Slovenia, paced the Runnin' Bulldogs at the recent Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate in Morganton, N.C., shooting 73-74-76 (223) to finish 11th individually.
It was the best finish of the season for Siftar, who joined the program in January.
Gardner-Webb finished seventh as a team at the tournament, which was hosted by Appalachian State. It was the final regular season event of the 2022 for the Runnin' Bulldogs, who will play next at the Big South Conference Championship in Ninety Six, S.C., from April 13-16.
