Byers Wraps Up Second Day At NCAA Men's Golf Championship On Saturday

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Gardner-Webb standout Zack Byers continued his journey at the 2022 NCAA Division I Men's Golf National Championship on Saturday at the Grayhawk Golf Club.
Byers (Shelby, N.C. / Shelby HS) started the day at 8:22 pacific time on the 10th hole and, after a pair of bogeys, made par on three consecutive holes. He finished the day at nine over par and sits at 17-over for the tournament. He had one birdie on his final nine holes and finished just two over par on the front nine.
Sunday will wrap up the tournament's first 54 holes, with the top-15 teams and the top-9 individual golfers not on those 15 teams moving on to Monday's final round. There are 151 golfers still competing.
Oklahoma surged past Vanderbilt in the team standings and sits atop the leaderboard with a 562 after 36 holes. Vandy, Oklahoma State, North Carolina and Pepperdine round out the first five.
Byers is scheduled to tee off at 11:22 am (8:22 pacific time) on the 10th hole Sunday.
