BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Gardner-Webb softball faced Campbell University up the road in Buies Creek, North Carolina. The team ultimately dropped both games of the doubleheader on Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Game One: Campbell 1, Gardner-Webb 0
The first game of the day came down the wire, where Campbell broke ahead in the sixth inning, scoring off of a double that was hit deep into left field.
Four Dawgs managed to record a hit, as
Katie Mitchell (1-for-3),
Araceli Pesqueira (1-for-3), Bridgette Strobel (1-for-3), and
Baylee Short (1-for-2) each had one.
Andrea Lyon (8-15) took the loss in the circle. She pitched six total frames, allowing one hit, one run, two walks, while striking out two batters.
Game Two: Campbell 2, Gardner-Webb 1
Three players from the previous game (Mitchell, Pesqueira, and Strobl) each gathered a hit in game two.
Gardner-Webb's single run of the game came in the third, a single RBI from Pesqueira allowed Strobl to advance home, which tied the game 1-1.
The Camels put up their second run of the game in the fourth inning to take the eventual win.
Sydney Gilbert (5-10) pitched a total of six innings and took the loss for GWU. She allowed five hits, two runs, one walk, while striking out three batters,
