BOILING SPRINGS – Gardner-Webb women's basketball announced its 2022-2023 schedule on Tuesday afternoon, featuring 12 home dates in Paul Porter Arena.
Season ticket sales also launched on Tuesday and can be purchased online at GWUSports.com or by calling (704) 406-4340.
Gardner-Webb will play an exciting non-conference slate, beginning on November 7 at nearby Clemson. Coach
Alex Simmons' talented squad, expected to compete for a Big South title in 2023, will open its home schedule on November 12 vs. UNC Greensboro, and will also host Georgia Southern (11/19), College of Charleston (11/23) and East Carolina (12/15) out of conference.
Road games at Furman (11/15), Alabama (11/27), Austin Peay (12/1), VCU (12/12) and Appalachian State (12/20). The Runnin' Bulldogs will also play in a two-game tournament in Berkley, Calif., on December 3-4.
The Big South conference slate, also released on Tuesday, opens on December 29 at Charleston Southern. Each school will play each other twice, one home and one away, for a total of 18 games.
After the road trip to the Low Country, the 'Dogs return to the court two days later to host High Point (12/31) for their home opener followed by Campbell (1/4).
GWU bounces between home and away games for the rest of the month as they round out the first half of the conference slate. The Runnin' Bulldogs play at Radford (1/7), vs Presbyterian (1/11), at UNCA (1/14), vs Longwood (1/18), vs Winthrop (1/21), and at Upstate (1/25).
High Point will be the first team that GWU will play their second matchup against as they travel to High Point on Saturday, January 28. Gardner-Webb returns home on Wednesday, February 1 to matchup against Charleston Southern.
Gardner-Webb will go to Presbyterian on Wednesday, February 4, followed by hosting Radford on Saturday, February 8. Their next three games include traveling to Campbell (2/11) and Winthrop (2/15) then hosting UNCA (2/18).
Their final road contest will be at Longwood on Wednesday, February 22 with the final regular season team for the 'Dogs being on Saturday, February 25 welcoming the Spartans of USC Upstate to Paul Porter Arena.
The Big South Conference Tournament will be held at Bojangles Coliseum in Charlotte with the games being played on March 1-2, 4-5. All ten schools will qualify for the event with the top-six receiving first-round byes.
