Gardner-Webb Men’s Basketball Announces 2022-23 Schedule, Season Tickets Now On Sale

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Gardner-Webb men's basketball released its full 2022-23 schedule on Tuesday afternoon, a 30-game slate that includes 12 non-conference and 18 Big South Conference tilts in a double round-robin schedule to determine a regular season champion.
The Runnin' Bulldogs also announced that season tickets have officially gone on sale. New season tickets can be purchased here, while returning season ticket holders looking to renew for the 2022-23 campaign can do so here.
NON-CONFERENCE
Gardner-Webb will play a total of 12 non-conference games in 2022, including four in Boiling Springs in front of the home crowd.
The Runnin' Bulldogs will battle its usual tough road slate to begin the year, with a trip to Colorado State tipping off the season on November 7 in Fort Collins. The Rams earned a No. 6 seed in last year's NCAA Tournament. GWU will then travel straight to the Lone Star state to face Stephen F. Austin on November 10 against a Lumberjacks team that finished 22-10 overall year ago, including a 14-4 mark in the Western Athletic Conference.
The Dawgs will then return to North Carolina for a slate of five in-state road games, all of which are set to be played on the road, beginning with a meeting with the NCAA Tournament runner-up Tar Heels in Chapel Hill on November 15. A two-day tournament at Wofford follows, with GWU first facing the Terriers on November 18 and North Carolina A&T State the next day on November 19.
The road trip will then finally conclude with two final matchups against North Carolina Central (Nov. 26) and Western Carolina (Nov. 30) before the team finally returns to the friendly confines of Paul Porter Arena for the first time in the season to host Chattanooga (Dec. 3) to open the month of December.
Concluding the non-conference slate with four games in the next 10 days, Gardner-Webb will hit the road for one final time in 2022 when it heads to Old Dominion on December 10. The Runnin' Bulldogs will then end the year with three-straight home matchups hosting Carolina University (Dec. 14), North Carolina Central (Dec. 17) and Bob Jones (Dec. 19) prior to Christmas Break.

The league office also released the 2022 conference schedule on Tuesday with each team playing a total of 18 games, including a home-and-home against every team in the conference.
Gardner-Webb will return from Christmas Break with a home meeting looming against Charleston Southern on December 29. The Runnin' Bulldogs will then cap off the month of December at High Point with a New Year's Eve matchup against the Panthers before ringing in 2023.
Beginning the 2023 portion of the year, the Dawgs will alternate away and home games for the next four tilts beginning with a game at Campbell (Jan. 4) followed by at home against Radford (Jan. 7), away at Presbyterian (Jan. 11) and at home hosting Asheville (Jan. 14).
The next two will both be played on the road at defending Big South champion Longwood (Jan. 18) and Winthrop (Jan. 21) before returning to Paul Porter Arena to face USC Upstate (Jan. 25) and High Point (Jan. 28) to round out the month of January.
February also begins on the road, this time at Charleston Southern (Feb. 1). The next three of four games will be played at home against Presbyterian (Feb. 4), Campbell (Feb. 11) and Winthrop (Feb. 15) sandwiched between an away meeting with Radford (2/8).
With four games remaining – two home and two away – the Runnin' Bulldogs will begin to wrap things up with a late-season home showdown against Winthrop (Feb. 15), at Asheville (Feb. 18), home against Longwood (Feb. 22) and finally away at USC Upstate (Feb. 25) as the Dawgs will conclude their regular season in Spartanburg, S.C. for the second consecutive season.

The season culminates with the 2023 Hercules Tires Big South Men's Basketball Championship, which will be held at Bojangles Coliseum in Charlotte, N.C., from March 1-5. Two first round games will be Wednesday, March 1, followed by four quarterfinal contests on Friday, March 3. The semifinals are scheduled for Saturday, March 4, with the Championship game on Sunday, March 5.
