BURLINGTON, N.C. – Gardner-Webb women's golf shot its lowest round of the tournament on Tuesday to finish fourth at the 2022 Elon Invitational.

The Runnin' Bulldogs (300-296-292-888) lowered their score in each round of the tournament, which was contested at Alamance Country Club (Par 71, 6,065 yards).

Neza Siftar (71-75-71-217) led the charge with an eighth-place finish, just two strokes out fo the top five. She was followed closely by Linnea Hofgren (80-67-72-219) in 11th. Hofgren's 67 in the second round was the lowest score of the tournament by any golfer in the field.

Hofgren excelled on the course's Par 3 holes, leading hte field with an average score of 2.83 through three rounds.

Kayla Dowell (74-77-77-228) finished 29th, while Katelyn Griggs (75-77-80-232) finished 35th and Gillian O'Brien (86-82-72-240) finished 51st. Dowell was one of only two golfers over 54 holes to record an eagle.

Host Elon won the tournament by 25 strokes over second-place William & Mary. UNCG finished third, followed by Gardner-Webb. The Elon 'B' team and Radford finished in a tie for fifth, 18 strokes behind Gardner-Webb in the 11-team field.
