Gardner-Webb Women To Host Red Out Game Wednesday Night At 7:00 PM

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – First-place Gardner-Webb will host a Red Out Game on Wednesday night at 7:00 pm vs. Charleston Southern in Paul Porter Arena.

The Runnin' Bulldogs (18-4, 10-0 Big South) have won 10 games in a row, good for the eighth-best active win streak in the country.

Gardner-Webb picked up a big road win on Saturday, blitzing second-place High Point on the road by 18 points. GWU has led by at least 20 points in each of its last five wins and has sizzled the nets to the tune of 80.0 ppg during that same stretch.

Each member of Gardner-Webb's All-Big South trio – Jhessyka Williams, Alasia Smith and Lauren Bevis – has been named Big South Conference Player of the Week this season. Williams (5) and Bevis (2) have done so multiple times.

Williams (18.5 ppg, 10.1 rpg) remains among the national leaders in scoring, rebounding and double-doubles. Bevis is one of the top shooters from long distance nationally and is averaging a career-high 15.0 ppg. Smith (13.7 ppg, 9.0 rpg) had 20 points in the win at High Point and is again a double-double machine.

Ki'Ari Cain directs one of the most explosive offenses in the league, pacing the Big South with 4.8 assists per game in addition to averaging a career-best 10.1 points per contest.

Gardner-Webb is off to a 10-0 start in conference play for the first time ever – regardless of league or level – and is off to its best start overall through 22 games since going 19-3 to start the 2009-2010 season.

Fans attending Wednesday's game are asked to arrive early and wear red to celebrate the program's Red Out Game. Tickets are available online (GWUSports.com) or at the door.
