BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – The Gardner-Webb University women's soccer team earned a 1-1 draw against the Panthers of High Point University on Wednesday night. Senior defender
Tijana Josic scored her first career goal for the Runnin' Bulldogs.
"That was a talented well-earned goal that we scored.", said coach Murphy. "I'm happy for Tijana and the group. Overall, just great efforts on the night in earning that tie, and I thought we played really well. I am happy for our seniors to get a result on Senior Night. They earned it. "
Prior to kickoff the Gardner-Webb women's soccer program recognized the team's graduating seniors

Tijana Josic,
Katie Thomas,
Valeria Ruffo and
Kiera Gibson. The match remained scoreless in the first half. High Point struck first in the contest as Tess Carlin scored on the left side in the 59
th minute. The 'Dawgs responded by generating several fast chances of their own. The 66
th minute saw Tajana Josic score the equalizer off a cross from
Abby Clark and an assist by
Klara Ovefelt.
Abby Clark and
Julia Coval also registered shots on goal for GWU. Ultimately the match concluded with one goal a side. With the result, Gardner-Webb earned a point in Big South play.
The Runnin' Bulldogs on the back in action on the road this Saturday, Oct. 21 against Radford at 6:00 p.m.
