BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – The Gardner-Webb swimming team defeated Milligan University on both the men's and women's side to complete the dual meet on Saturday, October 21.
In total, 21 'Dawgs won their events including the men sweeping the 200-yard freestyle race (senior
Garrett Despres 1:45.07, junior
Theo Drescher 1:45.09, and junior
Ryan Taylor 1:48.26).
Five freshmen won their races including
Luke Weber winning the 1000-yard freestyle (9:49.30) and the 500-yard freestyle (4:47.06).
Alex Cook won the 200-yard butterfly (1:54.38),
Slawka Ndubuisi won the 50-yard freestyle (23.68), and
Nolan Patterson won the 50-yard freestyle (21.16).
The men's side outscored Milligan (142.5-110.5) while the women won (160-96). The men have yet to lose a meet through three meets this season.
Gardner-Webb is back in the pool on Saturday, Oct. 28, as it travels to Campbell University in Buies Creek, N.C.
