SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Neza Siftar continued her strong play this fall, finishing seventh overall at the Terrier Intercollegiate on Tuesday, Oct. 24.

The junior shot a three-over 75 in the first round, before shooting a one-over 73 and a two-over, 74 in the final two rounds. Siftar finished with a six-over, 222 for the week. The Ljubliana, Slovenia native excelled on par fives, shooting three-under for an average score of 4.75 on the longest holes at the Carolina Country Club, tied for the fifth best score of the field. Her 37 pars were the second-most of the field, as her and Kayla Dowell carded six birdies each to lead the Runnin' Bulldogs.

As a team, Gardner-Webb finished 12th, finishing above conference foe Presbyterian College and regional rival The Citadel. GWU shot an 87-over, 951 three-round score, finishing just eight strokes behind Bowling Green.

Dowell finished tied for 37th, shooting a 19-over, 235 three-round score. Dowell shot a two-over 74 in the opening round, before shooting a 10-over 82 in the second round and a seven-over, 79 in the final round. 

Ashley Huffman finished 56th overall, shooting a 27-over, 243 three-round score. Huffman shot an average even-par score on par threes and par fives at the Carolina Country Club. She was one of just nine players in the field to shoot even-par or better on par threes this week.

Katelyn Griggs shot a 35-over, 251 to finish 65th overall, while Vileska Gelpi shot a 46-over, 262 three-round score, finishing 72nd.

Elon won the team title with a 30-over, 894 three-round score. Brielle Mapano of Western Carolina won the individual championship with a four-under, 212 three-round score.

The Gardner-Webb women's golf team will head to the blue ridge mountains for their next event, competing at the French Broad Intercollegiate in Asheville, N.C.
