Jack Boyer Named Big South Men's Golfer of the Week

Boyer shot a career-low 67 and finished eighth at the Furman Intercollegiate
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - For the first time in his career, Jack Boyer was named Big South Men's Golfer of the Week, announced by the Big South on Friday, Oct. 27.
Boyer opened his competition in style, carding a one-under 70 in the opening round before shooting a scintillating four-under 67 in the second round. That score is a new career-low for him.The Greensboro native finished his play at the Furman Golf Course with a three-over 74 in the final round, culminating in a two-under, 211 three-round score to finish eighth overall.
Boyer excelled on par threes, shooting two-under and an average score of 2.83, the second-best score of the field. His 13 total birdies tied for the second-most of any player in the field.
It is the first weekly conference honor for the Gardner-Webb men's golf team this season. It is also the first time the GWU men's golf team earned a weekly conference award since Mar. 23, 2023, when Max White earned the Men's Golfer of the Week honor.
Gardner-Webb closes out the fall portion of their schedule in Fripp Island, S.C. at the Fripp Island Preview event. Competition begins on Sunday, Nov. 5.
