HIGH POINT, N.C. –Gardner-Webb volleyball (11-11, 5-5) fell in three sets in its last regular season match with High Point University (17-6, 10-0), Friday, October 27 in Big South play.

"We never got into a rhythm tonight," said head coach Eric Plunkett. "High Point put a lot of pressure on us with their serve and their consistency on offense. It fel like we couldn't catch a break."
Set one started close with both sides trading points up until a tie score at 9-9. The Panthers rattled off five straight points to jump in front 14-9, leading them to a 25-16 victory. HPU registered the largest lead of the contest at 20-7 in set two, before taking the 2-0 advantage at 25-15. High Point started strong again holding a 13-5 lead before the 'Dawgs fought back to minimize the score at 15-13. A 10-2 run ended the GWU effort and secured the 3-0 win for the Panthers.
"Regardless of tongith's outcome we have to bring our energy tomorrow against a tough Radford team," said Plunkett. "I'm looking forward to seeing our team bounce back tomorrow."
