
Perriello and Morita Named to All-Academic Team at Big South Championship

'Dawgs Conclude Big South Championship with two new personal bests
Perriello accumulated a 3.45 GPA with a major in Communication Studies while Morita recorded a 3.42 GPA also majoring in Communication Studies.
Competing in the 5k with 75 runners, Perriello led the pack finishing 25th with a time of 18:57, just over a second away from beating her personal best. Junior Chloe McDaniel finished in 54th place at 20:34. Senior Jennifer Escalera finished in the 56th place at a time of 20:43, smashing her personal best by nearly seven seconds.
Junior Teryn Bour and junior Isabela Castillo rounded out the women's side with 71st and 72nd finishes.
With the men's side including 73 runners, Morita placed 47th with a 27:31 finish to lead the 'Dawgs. Freshman Kaden Pratt finished after Morita at 28:46, beating his career-best time (29:46) by one minute and placing 60th.
Freshman Austin DeGeorge crossed the finish line in 64th place with a time of 30:06, while junior Mark Mellon finished 69th (31:00), sophomore John Marsh finished 70th (32:48), and senior Cole Ray in 71st (35:32).
The NCAA Regionals will be held on Friday, November 10 in Spartanburg, S.C. at the Milliken Research Park. The field for the event will be announced at the beginning of next month.
