Anderson advanced to the second round in the 2023 NCAA Tournament
NEWTON, Iowa - After reaching the second round of the 2023 NCAA Tournament, Jha'Quan Anderson finds himself ranked 20th in the WIN Magazine Preseason Poll for 184 pound wrestlers, announced on Tuesday, Oct. 3.
Anderson earned his second career at-large selection to the NCAA Championships, finishing with a 27-17 record at 184 pounds last season. The redshirt senior won his final 10 duals of the regular season to go 7-1 within league action and finished runner-up at the SoCon Championships for the second straight year.
The Conyers, Ga. native opened the 2022-23 season with a sixth-place finish at the Clarion Open that including four victories in his run. Anderson went 2-3 at the Appalachian State Open for another sixth-place finish, before finishing fifth at the ARMS Software Patriot Open with a 3-2 mark. Anderson also ad a 10-4 decision over Luke Chakonis of Duke for another Power 5 victory in his career.
At the NCAA Tournament, defeated Matthew Waddell of Chattanooga for his second career victory at the event.

The WIN rankings are subject to change as wrestlers finalize what weight class they will wrestle this winter. WIN Magazine, which will update its rankings on Nov. 1, will announce it dual-meet rankings in December. After November 1, WIN Magazine will release weekly NCAA Division I Rankings.
