CLINTON, S.C. – The Gardner-Webb University women's soccer team fell in their Big South match against Presbyterian College on Wednesday night by a final score of 2-0. GWU pressed the quick attack in the match ultimately coming up short by a pair of goals.
The Blue Hose opened the scoring in the 14
th minute as Sloan Sprees scored on the left side to give Presbyterian the lead. The Runnin' Bulldogs utilized both
Stephanie Liu and
Jamie Martin in goal over the course of the match. Sprees added a second goal in the 59
th minute extending the lead, which they held onto until the end of the 90
th minute.
Lea Gossett and
Abby Clark registered shots on goal for Gardner-Webb.
The Runnin' Bulldogs return to action this Saturday, Oct. 7 at 4:00 p.m. as they continue their Big South slate on the road at Charleston Southern University.
