
Neza Siftar Named Big South Women's Golfer of the Week

It is her third career weekly conference honor
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - After winning the individual championship at the Fripp Island Preview, Neza Siftar was named Big South Women's Golfer of the Week, announced by the conference on Thursday, Nov. 9.
Siftar won the championship in Saint Helena, S.C. by two strokes, shooting a one-under 143 two-round score at the Fripp Island Ocean Creek course. The Slovenian shot a two-under 70 in the opening round before carding a one-over 73 in the second. Siftar shot a two-under, 4.80 average score on par fives, tied for the best score on the longest holes on the course. Her eight birdies led the entire field. The junior opened her play at the tournament with four birdies through the front-nine.
It is Siftar's second career individual championship. Siftar won the individual championship at the 2023 Bright Creek Women's Invite with a five-over 221 three round score (80, 73, 68).
This is the fourth career weekly award for Siftar. She won the Big South Women's Golfer of the Week twice during the 2022-23 season (9/22, 3/2) and won Freshman of the Week during the 2021-22 season (4/7).
GWU will now prepare for the 2024 spring season. The Runnin' Bulldogs will open the spring campaign hosting the Bright Creek's Intercollegiate on Feb. 24 in Mill Springs, N.C.
