
Men's Golf Wraps Up Play At 2023 Wexford Intercollegiate To Open Spring Season

HILTON HEAD, S.C. – Gardner-Webb men's golf wrapped up its first tournament of the spring, finishing in a tie for 12th at the 2023 Wexford Intercollegiate.
The Runnin' Bulldogs rallied in the third round, shooting their lowest team round of the tournament to pull into a tie with Charleston Southern and finish just one stroke back of Winthrop.
Connor Fahey was the low man for Gardner-Webb, starting with a 71 in the first round and finishing in a tie for 14th individually (71-75-74-220).
Jack Boyer (77-80-73-230) finished 44th, Jules Bondil (77-75-80-232) finished 56th, Mark Chandler (77-81-77-235) finished 66th and Maddox Whittington (81-84-76-241) finished 81st for the Runnin' Bulldogs.
USC Aiken won the 18-team event by five strokes over Dayton and seven strokes over host Francis Marion. Richmond and Samford rounded out the top five.
Gardner-Webb will be back in action on March 6-7 at the Palmetto Intercollegiate in Aiken, S.C.
