CHARLOTTE – The Big South announced the winners of its weekly awards for tennis on Wednesday afternoon.
Alex Lepine (Montreal, Canada) was selected as the conference's player of the week.

Mike Griffith said, "He is really focused and determined to be the best player he can be, which has been fun to coach and watch him perform so far this season."
Lepine finished the week with a 2-0 record in singles coming from the #2 position. On Monday, he defeated his opponent from Lenoir-Rhyne 6-0, 6-2 for the team's third point of the afternoon. This helped the 'Dogs seal the 7-0 sweep of the Bears for GWU's first win of the 2023 season.
The sophomore finished off the week by having the decisive point in Sunday's 4-3 win over Queens. Lepine dropped the first set 4-6 but responded with scores of 7-5 and 6-3 in the following sets to claim the win for the 'Dogs. This was the lone match to go to a third set and the last to conclude during the afternoon.
Gardner-Webb has now won two of the four awards that have been given out this season. Last week,
Eduardo Dias received the honor for the first time this season.
The Runnin' Bulldogs will be on the road for their next pair of matches with these including at Wingate (2/9) and at Wofford (2/13).
