HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – Gardner-Webb women's golf wrapped up play at the 2023 Low Country Invitational after 36 holes, finishing in 14th position.
The tournament was shortened due to wet weather on Saturday, with the competing teams playing two rounds on Sunday.
Gardner-Webb lowered its team score by 11 strokes in the second round, moving into 14th place – and just one stroke behind Western Michigan. The Runnin' Bulldogs outpaced host Wofford College by 10 strokes.
Neza Siftar led GWU individually, finishing in a tie for 17th after carding a 77 in the final round.
Linnea Hofgren finished in a tie for 46th,
Georgia Barr tied for 52nd and
Kayla Dowell and
Katelyn Griggs tied for 70th in a crowded field.
Quinnipiac placed two golfers in the top-5 to win the team title. UNC Asheville, Elon, Jacksonville and Presbyterian rounded out the top five.
Gardner-Webb will be back in action on March 27 at the Golfweek / AGT Intercollegiate in Pawley's Island, S.C.
