AIKEN, S.C. – Gardner-Webb men's golf finished action at the 2023 Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate on Tuesday, finishing 14th in the team standings.
South Carolina took top honors, followed by Furman, Wisconsin, Davidson and Virginia Tech.
The event was held at the historic Palmetto Golf Club, which was established in 1892 and is among the most famous courses in the southeast.
The Runnin' Bulldogs were paced by
Braden Smith, who shot a low round of 74 on Tuesday to finish in a tie for 50th.
Jack Boyer (74-74-78) and
Jules Bondil (73-76-76) tied for 53rd and
Maddox Whittington (81-70-78) finished in 61st. Conner Fahey (76-73-82) finished 67th in a large field of competitors.
Whittington's second-round score of 70 was the low round for the Runnin' Bulldogs over 54 holes.
Gardner-Webb will be back in action on March 20-21 at the Pirate Intercollegiate in Greenville, N.C.
