Gardner-Webb's Jha'Quan Anderson Earns At-Large Bid To 2023 NCAA Championships

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Gardner-Webb wrestler Jha'Quan Anderson earned at at-large selection to the 2023 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships Tuesday afternoon, his second career appearance on the sports' biggest collegiate stage.
He joins teammate RJ Mosley, who advanced to the event by winning his second-straight Southern Conference title on Saturday night. The NCAA Championships will be held March 16-18 in Tulsa, Okla.
Anderson will compete at 184 pounds and finished the 2022-2023 season with a 22-13 overall record and a runner-up finish Saturday at the SoCon Championships. Anderson recorded five major decisions and two tech falls this season at 184 pounds and went 7-1 against SoCon foes during the regular season.
It is the second trip to the national championships for Anderson, who earned a spot in the bracket in 2021 at 184 pounds. The Conyers, Ga., native finished third that season at the SoCon Championships.
Brackets for the 2023 NCAA Championships will be announced on Wednesday night at 8:00 pm on NCAA.com. Gardner-Webb will host a Selection Show Watch Party, beginning at 7:00 pm in Tucker Student Center. The event is open to the general public.
