Men's Golf Wraps Up Competition Sunday At 2023 ECU Cutter Creek Intercollegiate

SNOW HILL, N.C. – Gardner-Webb men's golf finished play on Sunday at the 2023 Cross Creek Intercollegiate, finishing ninth in the tournament hosted by East Carolina.

The Runnin' Bulldogs shot their lowest team round of the weekend, with Maddox Whittington carding 68 to lead the way. GWU shot 291 on Sunday to pull within three strokes of Rhode Island.

The Runnin' Bulldogs shot a 292 in the opening round and a 312 on Saturday.

Jules Bondil was the top individual finisher for the 'Dogs, tying for ninth after rounds of 72-73-75 (220). Whittington was close behind on the strength of his strong Sunday. He shot 73-81-68 (222) to finish in a tie for 14th individually.

Connor Fahey (73-79-77-229) finished 43rd and the duo of Peach Bunnadodee (74-83-73-230) and Max White (75-79-76-230) finished tied for 49th. Jack Boyer rounded out the GWU group in 70th place and shot a 75 on Sunday for his best round of the weekend.

The host Pirates captured the team title, nipping Jacksonville State by just one stroke. Old Dominion and Richmond rounded out the top four.
