Three Gardner-Webb Wrestlers Named To SoCon Academic All-Conference List

RJ Mosley earned his second career honor

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Three Gardner-Webb wrestlers earned SoCon Academic All-Conference honors, announced on Tuesday, July 11.
 
Jha'Quan Anderson, Todd Carter and RJ Mosley all earned the honors. To be eligible for the SoCon Academic All-Conference Team, student-athletes must carry at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average at the conclusion of the semester of competition and were required to compete in at least one-half of their teams' competitions. In addition, the student-athletes must have successfully completed at least three semesters at their institutions, making true freshmen and first-year transfers ineligible for inclusion.
 
Anderson earned the nod after earning a 3.31 GPA while majoring in Exercise Science. Earned his second career at-large selection to the NCAA Championships, finishing with a 27-17 record at 184 pounds this season. The Redshirt Junior won his final 10 duals of the regular season to go 7-1 within league action and finished runner-up at the SoCon Championships for the second straight year.
 
Carter picks up his honor thanks to a 3.65 GPA in Business Administration. The Blackshear, Ga. native finished with a 13-3 record during the regular season and going 5-3 in SoCon action. Carter finished 4th at the SoCon Championships with a pair of postseason victories at 133 pounds. He also Finished in 4th at the ARMS Software Patriot Open with two wins.
 
Mosley closed his historic career with another award, earning the Academic All-Conference honor with a 3.33 GPA while obtaining his MBA. Mosley was selected to the NCAA Championships for the third time of his career this time as the #24 seed. The Oklahoma City native earned an automatic berth after winning the Southern Conference crown at 165 for the second straight year. Mosley finished the season with a 27-7 record on the season including 7-1 against league foes. He also Won the ARMS Software Patriot Open championship at 165 pounds with a perfect 4-0 record.
 
The award is another honor from the Southern Conference, as he was named Preseason All-Southern Conference and was selected SoCon Wrestler of the Week twice (12/7 & 1/11).
 
It is the second SoCon Academic All-Conference honor for Mosley, his first since 2021. It is the first career honors for Anderson and Carter.
