Gardner-Webb Volleyball Earns USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award

It is the first honor for the Runnin' Bulldogs since 2018

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Gardner-Webb volleyball program earned the USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award for the first time since 2018, announced on Thursday, July 13.

The award, initiated in the 1992–93 academic year, honors volleyball teams that maintain a year-long grade-point average of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale. A total of 1,332 collegiate and high school volleyball teams have earned the USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award this season. The Runnin' Bulldogs did so with a team cumulative GPA of 3.72 for the 2022-23 school year. Then squad was led by Delaney McCullough, who earned Big South All-Academic honors after posting a 3.87 GPA while pursuing a degree in biology.

It is the first time the Runnin' Bulldogs have earned the honor since 2018, and is the twelfth time that Gardner-Webb has earned the accolade.
