Men's Golf Concludes Furman Intercollegiate

GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Gardner-Webb University men's golf team concluded the 2024 Furman Intercollegiate with a 14th place finished after firing a combined team score of 899 (+35) on Sunday, October 20. The Runnin' Bulldogs best score of 292 (+4) came in round two.
Freshman Will Spicer paced the way for GWU, carding a three-day total of 218 (+2). The rookie was able to post a pair of even-par, 72s in rounds one and two before finishing his tournament with a solid 74 (+2).
Junior Jack Boyer shook off a slow start in round one, picking up four strokes in the second round (74, +2) before firing a 1-over, 73 during the final 18 holes of play.
Sophomore Jack Mikesell and freshman Reed Burton each fired identical score of 229 (+13) over 54 holes while junior Maddox Whittington turned in a combined score of 231 (+15) during his three-round tournament.
Gardner-Webb will return to the links on November 2-4 as it takes part in the Fripp Island Preview hosted by USC Upstate.
