
Runnin' Bulldogs Collect Top 5 Finish at Terrier Intercollegiate

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Gardner-Webb University women's golf team took home a 5th place finish following the final round of the Terrier Intercollegiate hosted by Wofford College on Tuesday, October 22.
After firing an opening round score of 302 (+14), the Runnin' Bulldogs carded combined team totals of 319 (+31) and 313 (+25) in rounds two and three, respectively, for a 54-hole total of 934 (+70). Samford took home the team title with combined score of 904 (+40).
Seniors Kayla Dowell and Neza Siftar paced the Runnin' Bulldogs with top 10 finishes as each shot an identical score of 230 (+14). Dowell opened her tournament with an even-par, 72 before carding rounds of 80 (+8) and 78 (+6). Siftar remained consistent over her 54 holes, turning in a pair of 5-over, 77s in the first two rounds before concluding the event with a 76 (+4).
Freshman Eva Bulger collected a 23rd place finish after firing a total combined score of 236 (+20) over three rounds. Her best score came on the opening 18 as she carded a 2-over, 74.
Junior Georgia Barr finished in 47th with a 54-hole total of 246 (+30) while senior Vileska Gelpi concluded her tournament in 49th, falling just one stroke behind Barr with a 247 (+31).
Junior Katelyn Griggs rounded out the top five for Gardner-Webb with a three-round combined score of 248 (+32) and 53rd place.
Gardner-Webb will return to action on November 2-4 as it participates in the Fripp Island Preview hosted by Upstate.
