Boyer and Burton Sweep Big South Men's Golf Weekly Awards

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – After guiding the Gardner-Webb University men's golf team to a sixth-place finish at the ECU Ironwood Collegiate Classic, junior Jack Boyer has been named Big South Men's Golfer of the Week, while freshman Reed Burton has been named the league's Freshman of the Week.
In route to leading Gardner-Webb to a strong team finish, the duo also placed top-ten individually in the tournament with Boyer and Burton tying for ninth place over two rounds.
Boyer shot a -6 overall for the event, turning in multiple rounds of 69 each. Meanwhile, Burton led the way for the Runnin' Bulldogs with a 66 (-6) in round one, needing to finish just at par over the final 18 holes to bring home a top-ten finish in the event.
Men's Golf is set to return to action on October 14th and 15th at the Elon Phoenix Intercollegiate
