WINSTON SALEM, N.C. - The Gardner-Webb University track and field team began its 2024-25 indoor season on Saturday afternoon, with several Runnin' Bulldogs athletes competing in field events at the JDL Track Get Your Marks Meet
Freshman
Paige Boyd posted a strong score for Gardner-Webb in the women's high jump event, putting a 1.50 meters on the board, able to take second place. Over in men's long jump, freshman
Joshua Powell also managed a podium finish, placing second with a distance of 6.43 meters. Freshman
Jonathan Garrett also competed for GWU in the men's weight throw, taking first place with a distance of 13.06 meters.
Elsewhere, freshman
Magnum Chesnut competed in two events for Gardner-Webb. The Charleston, S.C. native placed first in the men's shot put with a distance of 14.40 meters and second in the men's weight throw with a distance of 13.06 meters.
Gardner-Webb will next compete in the Early Bird Invitational, scheduled for December 7th and 8th in Winston Salem, N.C.
