FRIPP ISLAND, S.C. – The Gardner-Webb women's golf team completed the Big South Conference Women's Championship Tournament on Wednesday (Apr. 17) shooting a total of 329 (+29) in the third round. The Runnin' Bulldogs finished in ninth place (949, +85) for the tournament at the Ocean Creek Golf Course in Fripp Island, South Carolina.
The three-day event (Monday 4/14 thru Wednesday 4/17) was played on the Par 72-6004 yards course.
Gardner-Webb junior
Neza Siftar (Ljubljana, Slovenia) was the top performer for the Dawgs with a 54-hole total of 225 (+9) to finish in the Top 10 on the Individual Leaderboard.
Following Siftar in the leaderboard for the Runnin' Bulldogs was junior
Kayla Dowell (Mebane, N.C.), who shot a 238 (+22) to finish tied for 31
st place.
Gardner-Webb sophomore
Georgia Barr (Calgary, Alberta, Canada) finished 39
th overall with a total of 245 (+29).
Freshman
Julia Buchgeher (Linz, Austria) and junior
Ashley Huffman (Ponte Vedra, Fla.) were also in the Runnin' Bulldogs lineup.
Charleston Southern (+31, 895) took the team title ahead of USC Upstate (+35, 899) and High Point (+37, 901), who finished in third place.
This concludes the 2024 spring season for Gardner-Webb.
