Gardner-Webb Women's Golf Ties Presbyterian for 5th Place at Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate

Junior Neza Siftar ties for 6th-place on leaderboard for Runnin' Bulldogs
Morganton, N.C. – The Gardner-Webb's women's golf team (942 total/+78) tied with Presbyterian College for fifth place at the Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate this Monday and Tuesday (4/01 and 4/02).
The two-day, seven-team event is hosted by Appalachian State University at the Mimosa Hills Golf and Country Club.
Gardner-Webb junior Neza Siftar (Ljubljana, Slovenia) was the Runnin' Bulldogs top performer with a 54-hole total of 225 (9-over) to finish tied for 6th out of 45 competitors on the leaderboard.
Following Siftar on the leader board for the Runnin' Bulldogs was junior Kayla Dowell (Mebane, N.C.), who shot a 235 (+19) to finish in tied for 18th place.
Junior Ashley Huffman (Ponte Vedra, Florida) shot a 239 (+23) to tie for 25th place.
Sophomore Georgia Barr (Calgary, Alberta, Canada) followed Huffman with a 240 (+24) to tie for 27th place.
Freshman Julia Buchgeher (Linz, Austria) shot a 246 (+30) which tied for 35th place, while sophomore Katelyn Griggs (Lexington, N.C.) rounded out the Gardner-Webb golfers with a 251 (+35) which was good for 40th on the leaderboard.
Western Carolina (897/ +33) took the team title ahead of Wofford (899/ +35) who finished second while host Appalachian State (934/ +70) placed third.
Up Next: Gardner-Webb will compete at the Big South Championship on Sunday April 14th through Wednesday April 17th in Fripp Island, S.C.
