WILMINGTON, N.C. - The Gardner-Webb swimming team fell in both the men's and women's overall team scores as weekend action wrapped up at UNC Wilimgton on Saturday evening, but comes home with a series of solid individual runs
GWU opened the day with a second place run in the women's 200-yard medley relay. Once again, the group of juniorÂ

Jenna Valentine landed on the podium, clocking in with a time of 1:45.78
The Runnin' Bulldogs featured heavily in the women's 100-yard butterfly, where Routh, Valentine, sophomore
Jillian Hawkins and sophomore
Lauren Barrick all finished back-to-back-to-back. Valentine was second in 56.72 seconds, Routh third in 57.29 seconds, Hawkins fourth in 57.37 seconds, and Barrick fifth in the event after clocking a time of 1:03.31
Nudubuisi later competed solo in the women's 100-yard freestyle, where the junior notched a time of 52.32 seconds to take second place. Gardner-Webb teammate senior
Sara-Michael Jann was fourth in the event, with a time of 54.40 seconds.

Jacob Jensen touched the wall in 1:30.88, a full one-second ahead of the third place finishers from UNC Wilmington
Individually, Townley and Bender both scored runner-up finishes later in the day, In the women's 100-yard breaststroke, Townley was just a half second off the top spot, finishing in second place with a time of 1:03.54. She would further take second in the women's 200-yard breaststroke in 2:20.52. Over in the men's 100-yard breaststroke meanwhile, Bender recorded a time of 56.75 seconds to take second.
Valentine was also among the strongest individual finishers of the day for the Runnin' Bulldogs, scoring second in the women's 200-yard butterfly. The Boone, N.C. native competing in her home state put down a time of 2:05.91, also just ahead of GWU teammate Hawkins who was fourth with a time of 2:11.20
Fresh off a school record run on Friday night, freshman
Victor Cury put down a time of 4:31.63, including a 26.38 second final split, as he took second place in the men's 500-yard freestyle race.
