CARY, N.C. – The Gardner-Webb men's tennis team sent four players to represent the university at the 2025 ITA Regionals hosted by Duke University on October 16-20.

During the qualifying round, sophomore Boyd Schreiber dropped his first-round contest to North Carolina's Nick Mangiapane before bouncing back with a 6-2, 3-6, 10-5 qualifying consolation win over Jordt Larke from College of Charleston.

Sophomore Alexandre Bergeron opened the main draw with a tough loss No. 9 seed Jules Leroux of N.C. State but fought back to win the main draw consolation over Coastal Carolina's Enzo Gautti – 6-1, retired.

Schreiber teamed up with sophomore Kaua Cressoni to win a first-round main draw versus UNC Wilmington. However, the duo fell to No. 7 seed Clemson, 8-6, in the second round.

Cressoni and freshman Noah Zeiger each picked up wins in singles action against Wofford College.

"Kaua and Boyd showed they can play with anyone in our region," said head coach Mike Griffith. "They way they played showed they are legitimate and so very close of being special. We will learn from this tournament and get ready for the Big South Individuals on Friday, October 24."

Gardner-Webb will travel to Rock Hill, S.C. on October 24-26 to compete in the Big South Conference Individuals. The Runnin' Bulldogs dominated the inaugural event last season.
