SERIES NOTES
- Gardner-Webb leads the all-time series 7-3-1 but with the two sides having only played twice in the last decade, after playing annually from 2008 to 2015
- The Runnin' Bulldogs had won three in a row in the series until last September, where VMI scored a 2-1 win

- The Runnin' Bulldogs are fresh off a 1-0 win on the road at USC Upstate on Saturday night
- GWU has been on a record-breaking run in Big South play, recording a program record five consecutive shutouts, and conceding just once since league play began back in mid-September, all while picking up three 1-0 wins... at USC Upstate, at home versus Presbyterian and at home against Charleston Southern
- Gardner-Webb has 11 points through its first six Big South games, the Runnin' Bulldogs best start to a league campaign since 2022
- The Runnin' Bulldogs active six-game unbeaten run is the longest for the program since 2018, when GWU went eight unbeaten with seven wins and a draw between October and November to reach the Big South Championship Game
- In addition to graduate forward Annie Slovak who has played 30 minutes off the bench in every appearance this season, Gardner-WEBB is expected to feature in rotation, junior midfielder Lily Stegall and senior midfielder Kaitlyn Huff who have each played over 500 minutes
- GWU is led by redshirt junior midfielder Peyton Bryant, who holds a team-high 1203 minutes for outfield players this season and is one of only three GWU outfield players above the 1000 minute mark
- Senior goalkeeper Savannah Dixon is the active Big South Defensive Player of the Week, having started every game in goal for the Runnin' Bulldogs, totaling 1231 minutes, 81 saves, and five straight shutouts, including a career-high 11 saves in the win at USC Upstate
- The Runnin' Bulldogs shutout streak, with Dixon in goal for it's entirety, stretches back 478 minutes all the way to the second half of Gardner-Webb's conference opener at Longwood
- Gardner-Webb has also seen significant defensive contributions from freshman defender Sarah Birchall, who has started each of the Dawgs last eight games in a row and has averaged over 65 minutes per game during that span. Gardner-Webb hasn't conceded a goal with Birchall on the pitch since September 11th
- On the attack, Gardner-Webb is led by junior forward Olivia Tribolet who has four goals, one assist and nine points through 12 games played, including the game-winner at USC Upstate on Saturday
- Freshman forward Ila Allred is the other multi-goal scorer for GWU, with two goals and four points in 14 games
- Others to make significant contributions in the team include freshman defender Noor Reslan and freshman midfielder Katie Stefanovski who have each started 10 and 13 games respectively, and freshman midfielder Bailey Pottratz who has featured in 13 games, making seven starts, including a stretch of five games in a row during September
- On Senior Day, senior defender Camila Lezcano started her 56th consecutive game for Gardner-Webb, a streak that began at Winthrop in early October of 2022 and has extended in full across the 2023, 2024 and 2025 seasons
- Joining Lezcano, Allred, Bryant and Dixon, sophomore defender Tanner Michael has started in all 14 games this season, playing 1169 minutes and recording an assist against SC State
VMI NOTES
- VMI enters Wednesday afternoon's contest with a 1-15-1 record, drawing nil-nil at home against Winthrop on August 28th and defeating St. Francis (PA) at home on September 14th, 3-1
- Gardner-Webb will be the fifth different Big South opponent the Keydets have faced in 2025
- The Keydets have scored 10 goals throughout the 2025 season, while having conceded 58
- VMI is one of the least penalized teams in the Southern Conference, with just seven yellow cards in 17 games played
- The Keydets are also top of the Southern Conference in saves, with 131 total, a mark of 7.71 per contest
