CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Gardner-Webb swimming team continued its weekend at Queens Fall Frenzy on Saturday afternoon, posting several individual personal bests and another new school record
The highlight of the day for GWU came in the women's 100 yard breaststroke. Sophomore
Dakota Townley not only set a personal best and finished third place, but also set a new school record with a time of 1:01.88. Townley also competed for Gardner-Webb in the women's 200-yard medley relay later in the day
Freshman
Victor Cury continued an excellent weekend for GWU in the men's 400 yard IM. Cury, fresh off setting a new school record in the 500 free on Friday, placed sixth in the event with a time of 3:55.30 in finals, good for a personal record
Defending ASUN Champion senior
Justin Bender was back in the pool on Saturday, competing in the men's 100 yard breaststroke. With a time of 53.56 seconds in finals, Bender scored a second place finish
One of GWU's best so far in the fall, junior
Slawka Ndubuisi competed in the women's 100 yard backstroke. The Columbia, S.C. native finished seventh in finals with a time of 56.96 seconds
Sophomore
Agustin Orechia carried the flag for Gardner-Webb in the men's 100 yard backstroke. Orechia, in 48.19 seconds, placed eighth amongst a strong field. Junior
Carter Redelman was the highest finisher in the consolation race, officially ninth in the full field with time of 48.93 seconds
As for personal records, Gardner-Webb set more than a few. Freshman
Elle Fisher was excellent in the women's 100 yard fly with a time of 1:02.27, while four GWU men posted records in the men's event. Redelman finished in 49.82 seconds, freshman
Porter Lane in 48.95 seconds, junior
Jacob Jensen in 49.05 seconds, and freshman
Jonathan Fraccola in 50.87 seconds
Other personal best times for the Runnin' Bulldogs on Saturday include sophomore
Kaitlyn Estes who finished the women's 400 yard IM in 4:31.69, sophomore
Stella West who posted a time of 1:58.67 in the women's 200 yard freestyle, freshman
Madison Richardson who tuched the wall in 57.57 seconds in the women's 100 yard backstroke, and junior
Isabella Palazzo who recorded a time of 58.36 seconds, also in the women's 100 yard backstroke
