CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Gardner-Webb swimming team wrapped up the Queens Fall Frenzy on Sunday afternoon in Charlotte, posting a series of more impressive results
Sophomore
Agustin Orechia was back in the pool on Sunday, competing in the men's 200 yard backstroke. Orechia placed second in finals, recording a solid time of 1:45.51
Fresh off a school-record run yesterday, sophomore
Dakota Townley finished off an impressive weekend in the women's 200 yard breaststroke. Townley, in 2:16.40, was less than a second off the top spot of the podium with a second place swim in 2:16.40
Defending ASUN champion
Justin Bender posted one of his best runs of Fall Frenzy on Sunday. Bender placed second in the men's 200 yard breaststroke, recording a time of 1:57.28
In the consolation race of the men's 200 yard breaststroke, Gardner-Webb posted back-to-back finishers. In 13th, junior
Dan Bennett posted a time of 2:02.69, while in 14th, sophomore Jojo Frye completed the race in 2:03.21
In the women's 200 yard butterfly, Gardner-Webb recorded a top ten finish via freshman
Jenna Valentine. One of the best runs of her debut fall for GWU, Valentine posted a time of 2:03.13
In the marathon men's 1650 freestyle, Gardner-Webb had three athletes in the finals, including sophomore
Santiago Alcantara, junior
Luke Weber and freshman
Victor Cury. Alcantara was the lead Runnin' Bulldog in seventh place in 15:41.35, Weber was ninth in 15:50.42, and Cury placed 10th in 15:53.18
In the overall team scores, the Gardner-Webb women placed ninth with 394 points over the three day weekend. The men's team meanwhile, finishes fourth with 680 points

With Fall Frenzy now in the books, GWU has wrapped up the fall portion of its 2025-26 schedule. Gardner-Webb returns to the pool on January 9th, when the Runnin' Bulldogs host UNC Asheville and Cumberland at Bost Pool
