WEST POINT, NY - The Gardner-Webb wrestling team stepped away from dual competition on Sunday afternoon to compete in the Black Knight Invitational, hosted by Army
Ranked inside the top 15 in his class in multiple polls, redshirt sophomore
T.K. Davis led the way for GWU on Sunday. At 133 pounds, Davis reached the class semifinals with a 3-1 record on the day. Despite a loss to Ethan Berginc of Army, Davis defeated Jared Chuquilin of LIU 19-2 by tech fall in the round of 16, Kyison Garcia of PSU in the quarterfinals by 11-3 major decision, and Jake Crapps of Army by decision 7-4 in the third-place match
Redshirt senior Hadyn Danals recorded some of the best results of his short GWU career to this point, finishing sixth place in the 184 bracket. Most notably, Danals defeated Cole Karpinski from Army by 11-2 major decision in the consolation matches
Freshman Isaiah Guerrero reached the quarterfinals in the 174 pound bracket. To reach the round, Guerrero defeated Oiliver Howard of Colorado by an 8-0 major decision

Joseph Giordano scored two individual wins for GWU. Giordano reached the quarterfinals in 157, taking down Oscar Aranda of Army 4-0 by fall, and Marc Maurath 16-0 by tech fall on his way through the bracket

Tyler Lamon picked up a win for Gardner-Webb in the 133 consolation bracket, winning by major decision 9-0 over Boris Witmer of Colorado. Graduate student
Andrew Wilson picked up an individual win for the Runnin' Bulldogs as well, defeating Lindson Turner of Colorado by a 6-2 decision

A big week for Gardner-Webb wrestling follows the holiday break, as the Runnin' Bulldogs welcome Duke to Paul Porter Arena on December 3rd at 7 pm, and Michigan State on December 5th at 6 pm
