Runnin' Bulldogs Conclude Fall Season at Fripp Island Intercollegiate

FRIPP ISLAND, S.C. – The Gardner-Webb women's golf team finished fourth at the Fripp Island Intercollegiate/Big South Preview on November 1-3. The Runnin' Bulldogs opened the tournament with a first-round score of 316 (+28) before picking up six strokes over the second round, carding a 310 (+22). Round three ended with a team combined score of 315 (+27).

Junior Bekka Mull paced the Dawgs with a 54-hole total of 231 (+15), good enough for a top five finish. Mull opened her scoring with a first round of 79 (+7) before carding a personal low of 75 (+3) in round two. She concluded the three rounds with a 77 (+5).

Sophomore Eva Bulger finished just outside the top 10 after combining for a score of 235 (+19) over 54 holes. After a pair of 4-over, 76s, Bulger closed out the tournament with a third-round score of 83 (+11).

Freshman Elle Overly came in three strokes behind Bulger after a three-day total of 238 (+22) while teammates Georgia Barr and Katelyn Griggs turned in combined scores of 241 (+25) and 246 (+30), respectively.

Charleston Southern took home the team title with a combined score of 894 (+30) while CUS's Katie Stephens earned individual medalist honors following a 54-hole score of 214 (-2).

The fall portion of the schedule has concluded and the Runnin' Bulldogs will return to the links on February 9-10 as they travel to Charleston, S.C. to participate in the Oyster Shuck Match Play hosted by the Citadel.
