CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Redshirt freshman Spence Sims of the Gardner-Webb men's basketball team has earned his third Big South Freshman of the Week honor as announced by the league on Monday afternoon.
Sims scored a career-high 19 points at UNC Wilmington on Saturday to lead the Runnin' Bulldogs in scoring for the third time this season. He was 6-of-12 from the floor, made 4-of-8 three-pointers and grabbed four rebounds vs. the Seahawks. Sims recorded a steal in all three games played last week and led GWU with four assists against Navy last Wednesday.
Sims and the Runnin' Bulldogs return to action on Wednesday, December 3, traveling to the Queen City for a showdown with Queens University of Charlotte. Tip from Curry Arena is slated for 7 p.m.
