CHARLOTTE, N.C. – For the fourth time this year and second consecutive, rookie guard Spence Sims of the Gardner-Webb men's basketball team has been tabbed Big South Conference Freshman of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday, December 8.

Sims averaged 17.5 points in games at Queens and at home against Georgia Southern last week.  He first tied for the team lead with 15 points against the Royals, as he was 6-of-9 from the field and a perfect 3-of-3 from three-point range.  Sims followed with a career-high 20 points along with two assists against Georgia Southern.  He shot 50.0 percent from beyond the arc (4-of-8) and made all four free throws in that contest.  For the week, Sims shot 57.1 percent overall (12-of-21) and 63.6 percent from long distance (7-of-11).

Sims and the Runnin' Bulldogs will return to action on Friday, December 12 while playing host to the Tornado of Brevard College. Tip from inside Paul Porter Arena is slated for 7 p.m.
