GAFFNEY, S.C. – The Gardner-Webb (2-1) women's tennis team captured a 6-1 win over Limestone on Thursday afternoon on the campus of the Saints.
The Runnin' Bulldogs took home a victory in No. 1 doubles as
Emilia Roslund and
Arili Boshoff took down Limestone's Amavbizca and Gomez, 6-1. The Saints pulled even with a 7-6 win at No. 2, but a forfeit in No. 3 gave GWU a 1-0 match lead.
Roslund continued her impressive play with a hard-fought three-set win against Temkova in No. 1 singles.
Alizée Poulin also aided the 'Dawgs win after taking down Amavizca 6-3, 6-1 at No. 2 singles. Limestone picked up its lone point in the No. 3 singles match, but
Natalie Crawford clinched the overall match for Gardner-Webb with a blemish free 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 4.
Boshoff tallied a win at No. 5 (6-0, 6-0) while
Valeria Lloclla won by way of forfeit at No. 6 singles.
The Runnin' Bulldogs will return to the courts on Wednesday, February 12, playing host to Queens University of Charlotte in the home opener. First serve is scheduled for 11 a.m.
