After taking the doubles point, the Runnin' Bulldogs captured four of the six singles contests, earning the 5-2 victory over the Flames. Gardner-Webb now leads the overall series with its former conference foe, 11-10.

"This was a very good road win over a quality opponent," said head coach Mike Griffith. "The key to the match was the focus and hard play from every player. We will now get ready for Longwood on Saturday."

Johan Van Wijk teamed up with Alex Lepine to take No. 3 doubles by the final of 6-3 over Chase Robinson and Ernst Gouws, putting the Runnin' Bulldogs one win away from the doubles point. Liberty evened the match at 1-all after taking No. 5 singles before taking the 2-1 lead on the win at No. 2 singles. However, Lemieux-Monette battled back for a 6-4, 6-2 win against Santiago at No. 3, pulling the 'Dawgs even at 2-2.
