BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – The Gardner-Webb (7-10) tennis team dropped a 5-2 home contest versus College of Charleston on Wednesday afternoon at the Webb Tennis Complex.
The Cougars picked up the match's first point after taking No. 1 and 3 doubles by scores of 6-4 and 6-2, respectively.
However, Alizée Poulin put the Runnin' Bulldogs on the board while knotting the score at 1-1 following a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 2 singles. After Charleston took wins at No. 1 and 4 singles, making the match 3-1, Arili Boshoff kept GWU alive with a win at No. 5.
Unfortunately, College of Charleston took the final two singles flights on its way to the 5-2 win. Gardner-Webb will return to the courts on Saturday, April 12, taking on the 49ers of Charlotte at 3 p.m.
