Calvin Fernandez took part in day one action at the 2025 NCAA Division I East Region Outdoor Championships, hosted by the University of North Florida
While the shot put contest was postponed until Thursday, Peterson took part in the men's hammer throw to begin the week. The Big South Outdoor event champion posted a distance of 56.93 meters in what will be his first of three different events while in Jacksonville. He'd return for the previously postponed action in shot put, eventually posting 14th place and a distance of 18.69 meters. Meanwhile in javelin, Fernandez was scored with a 58.15 meters in his only event of the week.
The Runnin' Bulldogs will return for day three action on Friday, with Peterson still due to compete in discuss for a shot at the NCAA Championships
