Tempe, Ariz. - The Intercollegiate Tennis Association ("ITA") recently announced the 2025 Division I Women's ITA Scholar-Athletes and All-Academic Teams, and the Gardner-Webb women's tennis team was honored for the 18th time in 19 seasons under head coach Jim Corn.

To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, a student-athlete must have a grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year.

The ITA All-Academic Team requires a program to have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale).

The Runnin' Bulldogs posted a team grade point average of 3.7 with all eight players picking up ITA Scholar-Athlete Honors for the 2024-25 Academic Year.  Both the collective 2024-2025 women's tennis team and each individual player received these honors

Junior
Emma Shasteen (Floda, Sweden), senior Emilia Roslund (Lund, Sweden), sophomore Milica Prokic (Belgrade, Serbia), junior Valeria Lloclla (Lima, Peru),
sophomore Alizee Poulin  (Beauceville, Quebec, Canada),  freshman Natalie Crawford (Leigh-on-Sea, London, United Kingdom), freshman Arili Boshoff (Nelspruit, South Africa) and freshman Greta Murza (Budapest, Hungary) were all honored by the ITA for their academic excellence.

Academia continues to be an integral aspect of the college tennis experience and adds to the unique student-athlete experience found on college campuses across the nation.

Within the sport of women's tennis at Gardner-Webb, student-athletes consistently shine in the classroom resulting in more well-rounded individuals and communities.

In 2025, 1,462 Division I women's student-athletes were named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, and 222 women's tennis programs were awarded the All-Academic Team distinction.

"I'm so proud of the effort my girls gave both on the court and in the classroom," said Corn. "We have eight ITA Scholar-Athletes, and our team GPA is 3.7. In today's world of NIL, it's so nice to see true student-athletes still exist. These girls really achieved academic excellence."
