Megan Devanny helped pace the Gardner-Webb cross country team to a 1-2 finish in Brevard XC Classic on Friday evening, as the Runnin' Bulldogs competed in the third event of the fall season
The Gardner-Webb women had an excellent 5000 meter race on Friday evening, with three top ten finishes and five runners inside the top 20 of the 103 athlete field. Perriello led the way to win the meet with a time of 18:18.95, while teammate Devanny was scored as the runner up with a time of 18:29.33. Sophomore
Emily Leatherman rounded out the top ten finishers for GWU with a ninth place run in 19:30.06. Freshman duo
Maggie Dirks (19:39.84) and Alexis Platser (19:49.98) were scored in 11th and 16th respectively, sophomore Claire Baurer crossed the line in 20:10.70 for 22nd place, while sophomore
Brooke Hope completed her race in 20:27.19 for 27th overall
The Gardner-Webb men also had a solid run, with a pair of top 20 finishes. Junior
Kaden Pratt finished 17th in the field of 120 athletes in 28:10.84, while freshman
Brendan Athy continued a great start to his Gardner-Webb career with a 20th place run in 28:17. Others for the Runnin' Bulldogs include sophomore
