Nalani McBride of the Gardner-Webb volleyball team has been named Big South Offensive Player of The Week
In her Gardner-Webb debut at the UNC Greensboro Spartan Classic, McBride recorded 29 digs, three assists in a Runnin' Bulldogs win over Sacred Heart. The Temple transfer and Stafford, Va. native then followed up with 25 digs, six assists and 26 digs, six assists against Queens and hosts UNC Greensboro to round out the weekend tournament.
McBride recorded 80 digs for the whole weekend across just 13 sets played, an average of over 6.1 per set. She ends the opening weekend of the season as the Big South leader in both total digs and digs per set. Her 29 digs against Sacred Heart are the most by any Big South player in a single game to this point in the season, while 26 against UNC Greensboro and 25 against Queens are third and fourth most by an individual
