On day one of the tournament, GWU finished the day with an overall record of 2-1 in doubles versus Davidson and 3-4 in singles action against Richmond.

"Our first overnight tournament of the year was a success," said head coach Mike Griffith. "Practicing is alright, but you can't really improve without playing other teams and seeing what you are doing well and areas of your game that need improvement. We are going to be better at Davidson this coming week and looking forward to the competition."

Gardner-Webb returns to the courts on Friday, September 26-28 as it will participate in the Davidson Fall Tournament.
